There is a tiny slit to the velvet on the right side. Made about 1900.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe brown is wool with appliqued ribbon around the bottom, back and wings. The applique  appears to be machine sewn. It has a fluffy wattle and comb. Measurements are 9 inches from beak to tail and 5 inches to the top of the head. There is some irregularity to the color but the fabrics are strong. Made circa 1880.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is not clear whether these were toys or pot holders.
