Wonderful example of a Lady of the Lake quilt in which the very geometric pattern is combined with a graceful applique border. Three stems of flowers on the bottom highlight the applique. The body of the quilt is a deep indigo calico with a very similar print with tiny open circles used for the border. Quilting is done in diagonal lines. The maker omitted the border on one side to indicate that this is end meant for the head.
The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. Measurements are 70" x 76". Made circa 1880.
