The combination of plaids, stripes, checks and tweeds laid out on diagonals make this rendition of Hole in the Barn Door a very "arty" one. The solid red background works well with the black and gray materials with pattern. It is made of medium/ heavy wools with a cotton flannel backing. Quilted in a pattern of squares that are slightly less than one inch to a side.
The quilt measures 66" x 72". Pennsylvania Mennonite; made circa 1900. Condition is excellent.
