Unusual silver and black onyx necklace by Betty Cooke, well known as a leader in the field of Modernist jewelry. Cooke is 97 years old and continuing to design. This necklace was made in the 1960's. It consists of an onyx disc measuring 1 7/8" in diameter with a sterling half circle on either side. The disc swivels and can be worn with the rod on which it is mounted going through the center. The clasp is a small silver disc going over a hook. The necklace measures 6 1/4" from the clasp to the top of the onyx disc. Total length from the clasp to the bottom of the silver bars is 19". Sold in the original box signed by Cooke.
