This Diamond in a Square quilt has all of the bells and whistles that one can wish for in a Lancaster County Amish quilt. The colors are the sought after jewel tones that collectors seek. The quilting is outstanding. The center is done with a round medallion surrounded by a feather design. The corners have bunches of grapes that are also included throughout the red border. One rarely finds the handled basket surrounded by fruit that is in each of the blue diamonds. The quilt is made with the fine, lightweight wools of the early Lancaster quilts. Condition is excellent. The overall colors may be a touch lighter than on my monitor. This is one of the finest examples of a Floating Amish Diamond that I have seen. Made circa 1910.
