This is the most interesting version of the Jacob's Ladder quilt pattern that I have seen. The colors and fabrics make it unusual as well as the strong diagonal patterning. Use of the red and indigo next to the light green creates a wonderfully effective streak across the quilt. The green is a very unusual fabric. The backing is a plain cotton muslin. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition. Measurements are 74" x 78". Pennsylvania origin; made circa 1890.
