This is a finely done example of a Light and Dark Log Cabin quilt. The blocks are small with each measuring less than 4 inches to a side. The repeated use of the red and black printed fabric centers add a little punch to what are other soft colors. The light calico has something of an unusual lacey quality to it. The darker tones are a grayish tan. Condition is excellent. There are two sleeves sewn to the back so it is ready to be hung in either direction. Measurements are 78 inches square; made circa 1880's.
