Reversible Sawtooth / Baskets Quilt: Circa 1880; Pennsylvania

Rarely does one find a completely reversible quilt, particularly with two totally unrelated patterns. In this instance, it is difficult to say which the maker intended as primary as both are well done. The Sawtooth is well pieced with nice small triangles. The only relationship with the Baskets side is that among other fabrics, it incorporates the same brick/ rust color used for the Sawtooth. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. It is well quilted with a variety of floral patterns. Measurements are 78" square; Franklin County, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880.
