This wonderful quilt combines the traditional Amish Diamond in a Square pattern with a Sunshine and Shadow and the original addition of a frame around the interior blocks. The blocks that create the frame are slightly larger than those of the interior. The quilt is made of a cotton and wool with a cotton backing. It is in flawless condition. Quilting in the border is done with leaves and pinwheel flowers. The maroon border has a cable pattern and small squares in the dark gray.
The quilt measures 77 inches square. It was made in the late 1930's.
