Disc pearl with gold medallion necklace by nonagenarian, Betty Cooke. Cooke is considered one of the icons of the Modernist studio jewelry movement. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art; Museum of Arts and Design and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. This necklace is made with disc pearls and two double faced 14 karat gold discs measuring 11/16" in diameter. In addition, the clasp consists of two overlapping larger discs that can be worn in the front as part of the ornamentation. The necklace measures 17 inches long.
