To the best of my knowledge, this Boots pattern quilt is a one of a kind. Because of the two colors, I am not certain whether they are meant to be boots or high button shoes, but in either case, it is a real rarity. There are 156 boots which gives it all a wonderful abstract quality as well. It is stitched with something of an echo pattern around the boots.
The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. Measurements are 60" x 74". The quilt came with a vague provenance of being from Georgia which is totally credible. It is certainly of Southern origin based upon some of the black quilting and the slightly heavier make up of the quilt than those we see from further North. Made circa 1930.
