This Center Star Medallion quilt has a touch of whimsey with blocks of Birds in the Air scattered around the main star. Le Moyne Stars make up three rows around the center and Nine Patch blocks in the corners. It's not often that one finds such an early quilt with these intentional irregularities,
The quilt is made of a wonderful assortment of printed fabrics dating mostly to the 1830's. The border is chintz. Measurements are 92" x 98"; condition is excellent. Pennsylvania origin.
