Some might refer to this giant medallion as a Starburst; others as a Compass. In either case, it is a wonderfully bold and dramatic design with the solid red fabrics highlighting the star-like elements. Triangle corners fill out the entire design. The quilt is made of cotton with a flannel backing which is unusual for this type of quilt.
Quilting is nicely done with a variety of leaf and curlicue designs. Measurements are 66" x 76; Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880's.
