This Double T quilt is as fresh and crisp as the day it was made nearly 150 years ago. The deep indigo background is an unusual and very effective choice. Light and dark printed fabrics combine well with it. The backing consists of two small check patterns that some mistakenly refer to as homespun. It does look like many of the homewoven plaids but in fact it was store bought. The quilt was made by Nancy Nelkirk (1856 - 1926) in Washington County, Maryland. Measurements are 80" x 84".
