This Mennonite Dresden Plate quilt has tremendous depth because of the rich tones of the Plates contrasting with the black ground. The entire quilt is made of wool. The background consists of several different materials of slightly different tones.
The yellow ties between the Plates follow through with the embroidery outlining the Plates. For some unknown reason, the ties are blue and red on the back. The backing is a cotton floral print. Condition is excellent. Measurements are 70 inches square.
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920.
