Mennonite Irish Chain Quilt: Circa 1880; Pennsylvania

Mennonite Irish Chain quilt done in solid colors of red and two tones of dark blue. The quilt appears to be in excellent, unwashed condition with a few tiny areas of color loss. The red of the chain makes the background color appear to recede giving a subtle three dimensional quality. Quilted with wreaths in the body and feathers in the border. Measurements are 76" x 78". Pennsylvania origin; made circa 1880.
