Feeling patriotic, anyone? This unusual Shields quilt
is combined with diamonds in squares to create an original, all-American design. Half diamonds frame the pattern well.
The quilting is not elaborate. It is done in straight lines in the body of the quilt and diamonds in the border. The concentric diamonds are machine appliqued.
The quilt is in excellent condition. There is one light smudge that can likely be removed with a wash but I have done nothing to it as I do not find it bothersome. Measurements are 61" x 72". Western Pennsylvania origin; circa 1910.
