Feathered Stars Quilt in unusual Purple Calico Fabrics

In the many decades that I have specialized in buying and selling antique quilts, I have never seen one done solely with purple calico fabrics. I have seen these materials used in bits and pieces of quilts and clothing but they are almost always faded to shades of tan. The three closely related prints in this quilt are as true to purple as the day the quilt was made. probably in the 1880's. The Stars are well pieced with small triangle feathers. Between the stars and making up the border are abstract appliqued leaves. The quilt is in excellent condition. The white spaces between the Stars are quilted with diamonds. Measurements are 68" x 86". From the back (but not visible on the front) one can see that the border leaves are stitched with black thread. This leads me to believe that the quilt may be of Southern origin. Condition is excellent.
