On offer are two pairs of cowboy boots that belonged to Roy Rogers, "King of the Cowboys". They were sold by Christies at their 2010 sale of Roy and Dale's belongings. Authentication is included.
The pair on the left was made by Acme. They are 12 inches from heel to the top of the boot pull. The soles are 11 inches from heel to toe. Stitching on both pairs is done in white. They date to about 1950.
The pair on the right was made by Duckhorn's. They are size 8. They measure 13 inches from heel to the top. The sole is 11 1/2 inches. The toe cap and top above the ankle are a polished leather.
While much fancier boots were included in the sale, it is clear from the amount of wear that these were among Roy's favorites. They are offered for $1400. each or $2500. for both pairs.
