This is an unusual variation of a Nine Patch quilt in that each block consists of nine nine patches. The corners of each nine patch are green with the others in shades of yellow or orange. The single nine patches between the larger ones are all done in brick and green. This consistency creates a chain effect going both vertically and horizontally. Quilting is done in a clamshell pattern with diagonal lines in the border. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition.
Measurements are 82 " x 88 ". Shenandoah Valley of Virginia origin made circa 1870's.
