Velvet String Stars Antique Quilt: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania

The pattern; colors and fabrics make a striking and unusual String Stars quilt.
It is made of richly colored velvets, some of which have patterning within them. Light colored embroidery around each block and star highlights that within. The quilt is a top and backing that have been heavily stitched together. While there is no distinct binding, it does appear to be finished as the edges have been sewn down. One could add a separate binding or turn the edge over to create one but neither is totally necessary.
The quilt was made in Pennsylvania in the 1920's. Measurements are 70 inches square; condition is excellent.
