Sterling silver "Petals" necklace by the late Modernist jewelry designer, Betty Cooke. The choker necklace has nine half circles that she referred to as petals. They are strung together with tubes seen only on the back. Each petal measures 2 inches across and one inch deep. The necklace measures 16 1/2 inches long, without the clasp. It is signed on two of the links. Cooke is known for her streamlined designs with emphasis on circles and lines. The title of the catalogue of the show of her work at the Walters Art Museum is The Circle and The Line. Cooke's work is in many museums including The Museum of Modern Art.
