Beautiful and very wearable Crescent design necklace and bracelet set by Hector Aguilar.
The necklace is 17 3/4 inches long with links measuring one inch wide. The hook clasp is perfectly integrated into the necklace and is invisible when worn. The hallmark dates from 1948 - 1955. Both pieces are 940 silver, more pure than the standard for sterling.
The bracelet is 8 1/4 inches long. The hallmark, while slightly different than that of the bracelet, dates to the same period. Both have Eagle mark 9.
Aguilar's work is well described and illustrated in the writing of scholar Penny Morrill. His pieces are in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art,
