This unusually large Armadillo belt buckle by Hector Aguilar would suit a man or woman equally well. It measures 5 9/16" in width and 2 9/16" in height.
It consists of five sterling silver plaques that are held together by rivets that allow for flexibility.
The buckle is accompanied by a custom made leather strap that is not original. It measures 29 1/2 inches in wearable length. The strap widens to 3 3/8" at the back. The buckle can accommodate any strap up to 1 3/8 inches in width.
Aguilar hallmark dates the buckle to 1943 - 1948.
