The Twentyfive Patch blocks join to create a diagonal chain in this early quilt. It is made of a beautiful variety of mid 19th century printed fabrics. The light and dark brown materials create a lovely soft palette. The diagonal stripe border makes an effective frame. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. There are some spots on the back but they do not show through on the front. The quilt has a sleeve for hanging. Measurements are 84" x 92". Virginia origin; made circa 1860.
