Album Patch Quilt: Circa 1850; Yardley, Pennsylvania

1408724

Regular price$2,950.00
/

This is an elegant version of an Album Patch (aka Chimney Sweep) quilt done in a glorious grouping of fabrics from the second quarter of the 19th century. The binding is a hand loomed tape. The center is signed with the name Martha Harper. She was from Yardley, Pennsylvania; born in 1807. The fabric used for the diagonal sashing and border looks to be pieced but is actually one blue and brown printed material.
The quilt is in excellent condition. There are several light water marks on the back that do not show through on the front.
Made circa 1850; Pennsylvania origin. Velcro for hanging was done by Patsy Orlofsky's Textile Conservation Workshop. Measurements are 98" x 100".
