Wonderfully dense version of a Bow Tie quilt. Most often, the Bow Ties are separated by sashing but not in this case. Here, the Bow Ties are set up in blocks of four, all of which touch one another. Within each block of four, the same fabrics are used but there is some variation. A tremendous number of printed fabrics are incorporated in the quilt. The light and dark tones create a dazzling image.
Measurements are 68" x 77"; made late 1880's. Pristine, unwashed condition.
