This fine example of a Double X quilt is well pieced and quilted. The white blocks are quilted with a pattern of diagonal leaves alternating with four stems of leaves. The quilt is in excellent condition. The zig zag and sawtooth borders frame the pattern very well. It is signed GS 4 1854 in the tiniest of stitches on the back. The red fabric is an unusual print. Measurements are 82 inches square; found in West Virginia.
