Unusual Broken Dishes quilt in that it is not arranged as the usual allover pattern but rather in diamond shaped blocks. The lights and darks are sprinkled throughout to give something of a kaleidoscopic effect. Use of the same maroon for the binding and inner border adds nice continuity. Cable quilting in the border and one inch squares throughout the indigo off blocks. Excellent condition with one small, inconspicuous tear between the inner border and the indigo ground. It is 1/4" x 3/4". Made of cotton; circa 1910. Holmes County, Ohio Amish origin. Measurements are 44" x 74".
