Setting the Jacob's Ladder blocks to create a strong diagonal pattern makes this quilt an unusual standout. The blocks are set on a warm cherry red ground. The blues in the body of the quilt are carried through in the zigzag frame. Blocks are quilted with diamonds and a cable for the red border. The backing is a plain muslin. Condition is excellent. The quilt measures 69" x 78". Made circa 1920; Mt. Hope, Holmes County, Ohio Amish origin.
