Offered for sale are two hefty Antonio Pineda Thumbprint bracelets - one in the standard size and one in the more unusual larger size. Both are in excellent, vintage condition. They were made in the 1950's. Both bracelets are 970 silver which is more pure than the sterling standard. The smaller of the two is one inch in height and 7 9/16" in length. The larger is 1 1/8" tall although it appears considerably more massive than the standard size. It is difficult to measure precisely because of the safety chain but it seems to be 9 3/4" in length. The work of Antonio Pineda is in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Fowler Museum. The large Thumbprint bracelet is illustrated in Silver Seduction: The Art of Mexican Modernist Antonio Pineda.
The small bracelet is sold. The larger one is $1875.
