Sterling silver earrings by Modernist designer, Art Smith (1917-1982). Smith worked in Greenwich Village in the mid 20th century and is well known for his imaginative, innovative designs.
These earrings consist of four dangling elements suspended on a twisted oval plaque. The earrings measure 2 1/8 inches in length. Backs are screw backs as was the fashion of the time. They can be modified to posts for pierced ears. Condition is excellent.
