Double Wedding Ring was one of the most popular quilt patterns in the 1930's. In almost all instances, it was made primarily with printed fabrics. This solid color example is far more unusual and, to my eye, more sophisticated. It is made with several closely related pinks and blues and the same red and white creating Four Patches in the center. It is nicely quilted and in excellent condition. Measurements are 74" x 96" to the outer edges of the scallops. Virginia origin; circa 1930.
