This unusual wood and silver box by Emilia Castillo is one of her early pieces, done when she signed her work with both Mimi and Los Castillo.
It measures 8 1/2" wide x 6 1/2" deep and 2 1/8" tall including the bracket feet. A bird on a branch surrounded by heart shaped leaves is painted in pure silver on ceramic. The box is richly colored ebony.
It is in excellent condition; made circa 1990.
