This floral bouquet quilt has the pixilated look often seen in the designs of quilt designer, Anne Orr (1875- 1946). Orr was the needlework editor of Good Housekeeping magazine for 20 years, beginning in 1921. In the late 20's, she added traditional quilt patterns to her offerings and by the 1930's, she began designing her own patterns as well.
Orr patterns are usually solid colors and use geometric pieces to create floral designs.
This quilt measures 74" x 80". The green in the central frame is made of the same one inch squares as the rest of the interior. The green of the outer borders consists of sold pieces quilted with wreath patterns.
Condition is excellent. Illinois origin; circa 1930.
