This Honeycomb quilt is made of small hexagons, each measuring 2 inches in diameter. The hexies are placed together by color in groups of six to form larger hexagons. Hexagons of the same color create inner borders on the the long sides. The white backing clearly shows the complexity of the piecing. The quilt has probably never been washed and is in excellent condition. There is very slight fraying on a few inches of the binding. It has a terrific variety of printed fabrics that date from the 1850's to 1870's. Measurements are 82" x 86"; probably New England origin.
