This Kansas Troubles quilt is known by several different names. It is also called Sawtooth; Lend and Borrow; Rocky Glen and Indian Meadow.
This particular example is well scaled with each block measuring 5 inches across. It is filled with a wonderful variety of printed fabrics, mostly dating to the 1860's and 1870's. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition. The binding, though original, is a solid pink material that does not appear as old as the quilt. Measurements are 75" x 86". Stapled to the quilt is a label on which is written "Old Barquist Quilt - Old-Patchwork in Cotton Class 67".
