The Orange Peel quilt always forms a nice positive/ negative design and this quilt is no exception. It is made more unusual by the indigo swag border with flowers in the corners. The floral print of the rose colored fabric is an interesting complement to the applique of the corner blocks. The quilt is in very good unwashed condition with pencil marks still showing. There are several light smudges that do not detract from the overall pattern. They could be removed with a careful wash but I did not consider them serious enough to necessitate that. Quilting in the white blocks alternates flowers with concentric arcs. The border is quilted with tulips. Measurements are 87" x 90" ; made 1850's.
