This dynamic pattern also goes by the name of Pineapple Log Cabin although Windmill Blades seems more descriptive given the whirling movement of the placement of the blocks. The meeting of each group of logs on a diagonal creates a diamond pattern with an hourglass in the center of each. This quilt is in pristine, unwashed condition. It is made with a nice variety of printed fabrics. The border is a fleshy/tan color that is quilted in a diamonds pattern. Measurements are 80 inches square; Pennsylvania origin. Made 1880's.
