Los Castillo Sterling and Amethyst Pendant/ Brooch

This early Los Castillo piece is both a brooch and a pendant. The construction allows it to be worn in several ways. The bail can be folded over in the back or temporarily removed.
The piece measures 1 1/4" x 1 3/4" (without the bail). Sitting in the concave bed is a cabochon amethyst measuring 1/2" x 3/4". It is held in place by four artfully designed prongs.
The pendant was made in the 1950's; condition is excellent.
