Maple Leaf Quilt with Botanical Border: Circa 1860

This Maple Leaf quilt (or is it a Peony?) is beautifully made and has an exceptional botanical border. The appliques on the border depict a variety of flowers and fruits that are stuffed and/or ruched.
Never before have I seen one done this way. The sawtooth border is a good continuation of the geometry of the Maple Leaves. It is quilted with double squares on point.
The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. There is ever so slight abrasion to parts of the binding. Measurements are 85" x 90"; made circa 1860.
