This traditional Nine Patch quilt is made with a lovely variety of printed fabrics from the first half of the 19th century. The white blocks are quilted with wreath patterns. The chintz border is an English fabric with palm trees and pheasants. Corner blocks are made of a different chintz with swags filled with flowers. The edges are finished by turning front and back together as is often seen in early quilts.
The quilt measures 86" x 90'; condition is excellent.
