New York Beauty is always a dramatic pattern but this example is particularly bold. The orange has the glow of sunshine.
It is well pieced with nice points to the triangles. The starbursts at the intersections are especially well done. The red, blue and yellow of the sashing and borders are an unusual contrast to the primary orange but somehow, they work well together. The white off spaces are filled with several rows of quilting that follow the curves of the Beauties with straight lines in the centers. Condition is excellent. The backing is a solid color peach fabric that is turned over to create the binding. Measurements are 77" x 89". Alabama origin; made circa 1920.
