One Patch Diamond in Square Quilt: Circa 1880; Pennsylvania

This Diamond in a Square quilt is created with the use of One Patch blocks. It is an unusual variation from Bowmansville, a small town in Lancaster, Pennsylvania known for its Star pattern quilts made in this manner. The light and dark calico fabrics are very well planned to make this complex pattern. Solid color pinks in the light areas are especially effective in spreading the eye around. Measurements are 76" x 78". Cable quilting in outer red border. There is a very, very faint area of fade on the outer border but no other condition apologies. One has to look closely to find it.
