Princess Feather Variation Quilt: Circa 1860; Pennsylvania

Princess Feather is almost always done as a four block pattern with each block having feathers radiating from a central design. This unusual example uses the same feathers in a unique design. The feathers gracefully alternate with tulips or maple leaves coming off undulating vines. The pattern looks equally good seen vertically or horizontally.
It is well quilted with diagonal lines throughout. Condition is excellent. Measurements are 92 inches square.
