Rich chocolate brown gives this Rose of Sharon quilt a very different
effect than one usually finds. Deep shades of brown and orange are softened by the pink centers. Well quilted including hearts throughout. Never washed; has several minor spots that could most likely disappear should one want to give it a bath. Several old, finely done mends are visible in close-ups (could a mouse have gotten to this little used, unwashed quilt?). Measures 88" square; circa 1870. Maine origin.
