To my knowledge, this applique quilt is an original pattern. It is well quilted and appliqued with reverse applique in every block. It is nicely balanced with five full blocks and partial blocks creating an effective frame. The material is a slightly rust or brick colored calico print. The border is quilted with a feathered pattern and flower medallions throughout the body of the quilt.
Measurements are 86 inches square. Made in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia; circa 1870's.
